Marta Camps Arbestain is a Professor of Environmental Biogeochemistry in School of Agriculture and Environment of Massey University of New Zealand. She is the co-director of the New Zealand Biochar Research Centre. She has been a member of the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (2013-2015) and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Biochar Initiative (2011-2015; vice-chair 2014; chair 2015). Marta studied Agricultural Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Lleida, Spain) and then received her MSc and PhD in Soil Science from the University of California, Davis. Previous to working at Massey University, she was a Senior Researcher - “Ramon y Cajal” (2003-2008) at NEIKER (Spain) and lecturer (1999-2003) at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Spain). She scientific work are focusing on Soil biogeochemistry, Soil organic matter and soil processes as they relate to pedogenesis and climate change, and Biochar.
(Marta Camps Arbestain, 新西兰梅西大学农业与我院教授。1995年获美国加利福尼亚大学土壤学博士学位。Marta教授多年来致力于土壤成土过程,土壤有机碳固定,生物炭的土壤环境效应等研究。先后在学术期刊论文近百篇,参与专著编写8部,总引用次数超过2200次。现任新西兰生物炭研究中心副主席。曾为国际生物炭协会(IBI)董事会成员(2011-2015),并于2014年担任董事会副主席,2015年担任主席。2013-2015期间为政府间土壤技术小组(ITPS)成员。)
